Announcing Mr and Mrs Powell

Is everyone having fun? OMG - this photographer, Aaron Keith Studios, capture the beauty of this wedding perfectly!

Sarah and John had a lot of help with their gorgeous wedding - namely, Sarah's mom, Donna. They are all a great family - fun and energetic - but Donna is one of the kindest ladies I've ever met.

She wanted her daughters wedding to be perfect - and our behind the scenes landscaping needed some love - Donna came and stayed at the Inn for a few days and planted love into our grounds. We were left with flowers and plants that we can water and remember her kind gift to us for years to come.

Sarah and John - we wish you the best marriage ever!!. . . . and here's to some more fun pictures taken that fabulous day at the Inn.

Scott Bull Rides in front of The Alamo '09

Scott (the owner and my hubby) is always bull riding somewhere - honestly any chance he can get to get on a bull. . .so yesterday - once again - he had the opportunity to ride in a team of bull riders competing in front of THE ALAMO (historic landmark downtown San Antonio).

He didn't win any money - but he had a good time - and put on a good show for some of our guests that came out into the massive heat (106 degrees) to watch. A fun time had by all.

Vie Mixion's (CPA) office retreat

Vie Mixion (CPA)
decided to plan a retreat for her office. Apparently, in the year where most businesses are having a hard time, Vie said that 2008-09 has been so good to her that she wanted to take everyone in her office for some time away. She choose to come and stay at the Inn with her wonderful employees and family.
Thank you so much Vie for choosing The Inn on the Riverwalk - we really appreciate it!

Announcing Mr and Mrs Long

Troy and beautiful, Janet came here to The Inn on the Riverwalk to celebrate their love in ceremony on the River. I didn't get to spend much time talking to them - but I asked Janet to send me a note about how they met - here's their story.. . . .
"Troy and I met through a blind date set up by my brother-in-law (who was also a friend of Troy’s). Rob (my brother-in-law) said that he thought Troy and I were just versions of each other/just the opposite gender and would be perfect for each other. Little did he know how much Troy and I are alike. We joke a lot saying that we are “twins.” We have the same beliefs, values, likes and dislikes, and try to be kind to others. We both tend to be shy at first. We are both very hard workers and are highly motivated.

We talked on the phone a few times before meeting, and then met for dinner and a movie. We were both just looking for a friend – someone to go to dinner and movies with and to talk to .. nothing “too serious.” However, after constantly talking on the phone, meeting a couple times each week, we quickly became inseparable and it turned into a whirlwind romance. Just 8 months later, we married on June 18.

Troy and I are from
Terre Haute, Indiana. We decided to get married in Texas because we wanted a unique, beautiful place to start our new life. Troy’s sister lives outside of San Antonio, Texas, so it seemed like a perfect city".

We here at the Inn on the Riverwalk - really wish them the BEST life ever!
sincerely, Rev. Johanna

Ernie Durawa (famous drummer) gets married at the Inn

Ernie and Laura Durawa exchanged vows here on the Riverwalk late into the night on June 12th.

Ernie is a very well known and talented drummer. He has performed with Texas Tornados, Willie Nelson, John Belushi, been nominated for grammy awards, awarded the 'Texas Drum Tornado Hall of Fame' and among a long list of accomplishments, was inducted into the 'Texas History Music Archives'.

It was a short and sweet ceremony conducted by a friend musician, who also happened to be a reverend. The wedding had originally been set for July, however, just due to the location and happy feeling, they decided to wed here in San Antonio.

I do wish them the best of wishes for a long and lasting marriage.
Johanna
